About your therapist
Yitzi Grunhut
People often ask what led me into counselling.
The answer is simple: life.
Alongside my academic training in psychology and therapeutic counselling, I've spent many years working in demanding professional environments, leading teams, supporting people through complex situations, and navigating the same kinds of challenges that many of my clients face. I've experienced the highs of achievement, the uncertainty that comes with change, the weight of responsibility, and the moments when life doesn't unfold as planned.
Those experiences have shaped how I work far more than any textbook ever could.
About me
People often ask what led me into counselling.
I know how easy it is to feel overwhelmed while appearing to cope. I know what it feels like to carry responsibility for others whilst quietly struggling yourself. I also know that healing doesn't come from being given advice — it comes from feeling heard, understood and accepted without judgement.
My approach is warm, collaborative and grounded. I don't believe therapy is about fixing people, because I don't believe people are broken. Instead, I see therapy as a place where we can slow down together, understand what's happening beneath the surface, and help you move towards the person you want to become.
Every client brings a unique story, and I approach each one with curiosity, respect and compassion. Whether you're experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, trauma, grief, stress, questions around identity or purpose, or simply feeling stuck, my role is to walk alongside you — not in front of you.
Outside the therapy room I'm a husband, father, lifelong learner and someone who believes that growth is possible at every stage of life. My own experiences have taught me that resilience isn't about never falling; it's about finding the courage to keep moving forward, often one small step at a time.
If you're considering therapy — whether for the first time or after previous experiences that weren't helpful — I would be honoured to be part of your journey.
How I work
My therapeutic approach
Person-Centred Therapy
I believe you are the expert on your own life. My role is to provide a warm, empathic space where you feel genuinely heard, accepted and understood — without judgement or pressure.
Psychodynamic Understanding
Our past experiences often influence how we relate to ourselves, others and the world. I draw on psychodynamic insight to help you explore these patterns with curiosity and compassion.
Working at Your Pace
There is no agenda or pressure. We explore whatever feels important to you, in a safe, supportive and collaborative environment — moving at a pace that feels right for you.
Building Self-Awareness
My aim is to help you understand yourself more deeply, discover your own strengths, and find a way forward that feels authentic — not to tell you how to live your life.
